Southwest CPR offers AHA CPR instructor training and affiliation services for both independent and organizational trainers. Instructors may receive either Heartsaver instructor certification or BLS instructor certification. BLS instructors may also teach Heartsaver courses.
Our instructor training program consists of several distinct components:
1. AHA Instructor Essentials Course
This online training from American Heart Association must be completed prior to attending a one-day in-person instructor course. We will send you a training link when you register for the instructor training.
2. Southwest CPR Instructor Course
This one-day class includes expectations, behaviors, learning styles, presentation skills, and skills practice and testing.
3. Monitored instruction
Your teaching skills will be monitored during your first class, and feedback provided regarding professionalism, presentation skills, effectiveness, and accuracy.
Once you have successfully completed the all three components of the course, you will be certified as a CPR instructor. In order to issue certification cards to students, you must be affiated with an American Heart Training Center. We offer AHA Training Center alignment at no charge. Once you are aligned with a Training Center, you may create and teach classes as you wish.
Price does not include training equipment, training supplies, or any AHA instructor manuals, videos, etc. These items must be purchased separately. You must be in possession of the latest version of the AHA training materials prior to taking the course. The instructor manual and course videos are available through Southwest CPR.
Certified by the American Heart Association.
Southwest CPR reserves the right to cancel any scheduled training class with 48 hours notification. Students enrolled in a class canceled by Southwest CPR may, at their option, either enroll into another class or receive a full refund.
No refunds for any other reasons. Students may reschedule with 24 hours notice.
